Ben Stokes' Bazball-Esque 50 Takes ENG To A Fighting Score In Hyderabad's Test 1st Innings

England's Test captain, Ben Stokes, yet again proved why he is called the man meant for biggest moments. The English captain, in the ongoing Hyderabad Test versus India, led the charge from the front as he slammed his fourth Test fifty in India, taking his overall to 31 half-centuries along with his 13 Test centuries.

Coming out to bat at number six, Stokes had a task on his shoulders of taking the Three Lions to a respectable total - which was then 121-4 - in the first Test match of a highly-anticipated series.

Unlike the Bazball philosophy, the 32-year-old took a cautious approach in the initial phase of his innings. Interestingly, he took 53 balls to smack his first boundary, but he didn't take too long to spill his fury.

Stokes completed his fifty off just 69 deliveries, smacking the Indian lethal spin attack to all corners.

If not for losing partners from the other end, the English skipper could definitely convert his innings into a three-figure score. However, batting at 65*, Stokes is strangled with Jack Leach - the Number 11 batter - at the other end.

At the time of writing, England are at 242-9 after 64 overs in their first innings of the first Test on Day 1.
