Although the DRS is not available in the ongoing U19 Asia Cup 2024, an on-field decision left everyone in complete shock on Sunday during the competition's final, where India and Bangladesh met for the prestigious title.

And it was Bangladesh who had to suffer, as India’s captain Mohamed Amaan survived despite a clear-cut wicket that anyone would have noticed to the naked eye. Nevertheless, umpires are human, too, but you can’t expect such a big blunder in a showpiece competition’s final.

The incident happened during the 22nd over of India’s innings, having already five wickets down while chasing 199. Then Debasish Sarkar Deba, a finger spinner, nicked captain Mohamed Amaan behind to Md Farid Hasan Faysal.

However, even though Debasish began to celebrate without even looking back at the umpire, the person who mattered the most at that point remained unmoved. While Amaan did not walk off, Bangladesh players left angry, and of course, felt robbed.

Debasis Throws At Amaan After Umpiring Blunder

The frustration was visible on the following delivery, as Debasish threw almost straight at Amaan after the latter defended the ball towards him.

Meanwhile, India are still losing the Asia Cup match despite coming to chase a paltry total. At the time of writing this, India are 93/7 in 27.3 overs. For India, Amaan is still in the middle, batting on 21* off 52 balls. Needless to say, Vaibhav Suryavanshi and his boys presently rely on their captain in order to pull off a miracle.
