The incident occurred on the second ball of the innings, delivered by Sam Curran to Virat Kohli. Known for his aggressive play, Kohli went for a drive on a wide delivery, only to edge the ball towards slip.

Jonny Bairstow, positioned at slip, had the chance to clinch a critical catch but unfortunately let it fly through his hands, turning a potential game-changing moment into a four to third man.

This dropped catch proved to be a costly blunder for the Punjab Kings. Kohli, given a new lease on life, unleashed his brilliance on the field, hammering 3 more boundaries in the opening over and racking up 16 runs, significantly propelling RCB's chase of the 177-run target.

At the time of writing, RCB 130/15 inside 16 overs, still needing 47 runs to win. Kohli was eventually dismissed for a brilliant 77.
