Pakistani skipper Babar Azam had an impressive start to his innings during the ongoing Asia Cup 2023 clash against Sri Lanka, as he raced to 29 in the blink of an eye. However, the Pakistani stalwart couldn't convert his start into a big score, as young sensation Dunith Wellalage dismissed him in the 16th over. 

After Pakistan lost opener Fakhar Zaman early in the innings, Babar Azam joined the middle to steady the ship alongside Abdullah Shafique. He got off with a glorious flick before playing a few picturesque shots.

But the stylish batter was thoroughly challenged by Dunith Wellalage, who tested him with his guile and impeccable accuracy. 

It was a flighted delivery, which turned significantly after pitching. As the ball was pitched on the full length, Babar committed early for a forward defence. In this process, he was beaten comprehensively, with the ball collected cleanly by Kusal Mendis. The Lankan keeper showed his agility behind the stumps, dislodging the bails when Babar's foot was in the air. 

After Babar got out, keeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan joined Shafique in the middle to resurrect the Pakistani innings. As of writing, the Men in Green are 85 for two in 18.5 overs, with Shafique and Rizwan batting on 41* and 8*, respectively.
