The eleventh match of the Asia Cup 2023 between Pakistan and Sri Lanka had a delayed start, with rain playing spoilsport in Colombo. However, as soon as the game began, promising Lankan seamer Pramod Madushan provided his side with a dream start, dismissing explosive opener Fakhar Zaman with an absolute ripper.
After opting to bat first, Pakistan had a cautious start, with Zaman and Abdullah Shafique negotiating with the new ball. However, the co-hosts suffered a significant setback, as Madushan rattled Zaman with a searing yorker.
The incident occurred in the fifth over when Sri Lankan skipper Dasun Shanaka persisted with Madushan to bowl the third over.

The bowler didn't let his side down, dismissing Zaman with a corker. It was a full delivery, which swung significantly in the air to breach Fakhar's defence and shatter his middle stump.
Notably, Zaman was not a part of the playing XI initially. However, an unfortunate back spasm to his regular opening partner Imam-ul-Haq forced the Pakistani management to bring the southpaw back into the eleven. However, he disappointed his team to the core, managing only four runs off eleven deliveries.
After Zaman's departure, skipper Babar Azam joined Shafique in the middle. As of writing, Pakistan are 28 for one in 7.2 overs, with Azam and Shafique batting on 12* runs each.
