The Asia Cup 2023 has been a blockbuster tournament so far, with the cricketing powerhouses competing neck-to-neck with each other for the coveted trophy. However, amidst the fascinating contest between the Asian giants, the phenomenon that has grabbed more attention has been the unpredictable weather in Colombo.

While incessant rain led to a washout in the high-octane group-stage clash between India and Pakistan, the former's two more fixtures were cut short due to inclement weather. After India qualified for the Asia Cup final, the fifth Super Four clash between Pakistan and Sri Lanka became a knockout game.

However, unfortunately, the chances of getting a game today looks bleak, considering a high probability of precipitation in the city.

Currently, India have already made it into the Asia Cup final, winning their first two Super Four matches. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka and Pakistan have two points each, but the former is placed second owing to a superior net run rate.

So, if this game is abandoned due to rain, both teams will get a point each, with Sri Lanka qualifying for the all-important final against India at the same venue on Sunday, September 17.
