Experienced Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj provided his side with a priceless breakthrough, getting rid of Pakistani captain Babar Azam in the ongoing World Cup face-off in Ahmedabad. Coming at number three, Babar looked set for a daddy hundred as he raced to his maiden ODI fifty against the arch-rivals. However, Siraj had other ideas, castling him in the seventh over of his spell.

After losing their openers, Pakistan managed to consolidate their innings, thanks to a fighting stand between Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan.

The experienced duo steadied the ship for their team, stitching a valuable 82-run stand for the third wicket. In such a scenario, Indian captain Rohit Sharma turned up to Siraj to break the partnership.

The seamer from Hyderabad had a mixed start, as he conceded a few runs in his initial deliveries. However, fortunately for India, he made a remarkable comeback, castling Babar with an absolute ripper.

He bowled a scrambled-seam delivery, which moved off the pitch to beat Babar and uproot his off stump.

After Babar's departure, Saud Shakeel joined the middle to bat alongside Rizwan. As of writing, Pakistan are 159 for three in 31.3 overs, with Rizwan and Shakeel batting on 47* and 4*, respectively.
