[Watch] Rohit's Masterplan Helps Siraj Dismiss Shafique With A 'Lethal' Delivery

Indian speedster Mohammed Siraj drew the first blood for his side in the high-voltage clash against Pakistan in the 2023 World Cup. After having a torrid start, the ace pacer bounced back remarkably, trapping Abdullah Shafique plumb in front of the stumps with a nip backer.

After being put into bat by Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, Pakistan got off to a flying start in the game, with Imam-ul-Haq and Shafique hitting a flurry of boundaries.

While Bumrah kept it tight, Siraj was disappointing with his line and length, as he bowled several 'hit-me' deliveries. However, he made a remarkable comeback, dismissing Shafique in the fourth over of his spell.

Siraj started the over on a high note, conceding only four singles in his first five deliveries. His sixth ball was a length delivery, which came back into the batter after pitching around the off stump.

As soon as the ball hit his front pad, the Indian players appealed, with the umpire raising his finger in their favour. Shafique consulted with his opening partner, but didn't opt for a review, making his way back to the dugout.

After Shafqiue's departure, skipper Babar Azam joined the middle to steady the ship for Pakistan. As of writing, Pakistan are 49 for one in 9.3 overs, with Imam and Babar batting on 23* and 5*, respectively.
