Axar Patel batted at number 6 in the absence of Ravindra Jadeja in both the innings of the second Test and was batting well in his second outing, before Tom Hartley hit his pad off the low bounce. The umpire did give it not out in the first instance but England took the DRS, and it was out.

Axar Patel scored 45 off 84 balls with six boundaries in it and it seemed that he is all set for a big one. However, Tom Hartley, bowled it touch short on middle from 'round the wicket and got it to turn into Axar. The Indian southpaw went back and tried to tuck it away, however, the low bounce beat him and hit him on the pad which after the DRS ended in his downfall.

Axar Patel did his job perfectly though and India had a healthy lead when he got out as his partnership with Gill, who scored a brilliant century was very crucial for India.

The pitch though is good to bat on and it promises to be another entertaining final innings as England try to turn things around, just like they did in the first Test match.
