India A and India B are facing off in the first match of the Duleep Trophy 2024 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The skipper of the India A team, Shubman Gill won the toss in this game and opted to field first.

Both India A and India B have some players who are either contesting for a spot in the national side for red-ball cricket or are looking to have match practice ahead of India's long Test season. A lot of the attention in this game will be on players like - Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rishabh Pant, Mukesh Kumar, Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Riyan Parag, Dhruv Jurel, Shivam Dube, etc.

Abhimany Easwaran failed to give India B a good start

Talking about the match, Abhimanyu Easwaran and Yashasvi Jaiswal opened the innings for the India B, looking to give them a solid start. The two batters looked in a decent touch before Abhimanyu Easwaran was dismissed by Avesh Khan in the 13th over of the innings. 

On the last delivery of the over, Avesh delivered a fullish delivery outside the off stump inviting a drive from the batter. Easwaran threw his bat at the ball and in an attempt to play an expansive drive ended up edging the ball. Dhruv Jurel who is playing as a wicketkeeper of India A in this game dived to his right to take a brilliant catch and send the India B skipper back to the hut.

The early wicket had the India B under a bit of pressure. Especially with Yashasvi Jaiswal falling soon and failing to play a part in the repair job of the innings, India A are in the driver's seat at present in the game.
