Indian speedster and Punjab Kings zealot Arshdeep Singh has been enhancing his big-hitting skills off late, as the cricketer was spotted smacking a few out of the park during Punjab’s Elite Group C Ranji Trophy 2024 bout against Karnataka earlier this month.

While Singh collected three crucial wickets during the first Karnataka innings, the 25-year-old also unleashed a sizzling 36-run cameo off just 34 balls. His innings, laced with three boundaries and three blistering sixes, blazed Punjab past the 400-run mark on the fourth day of the contest at Hubli’s KSCA Cricket Ground.

Arshdeep’s newfound ability as a lower-order batsman seems to have instilled much confidence in Punjab Kings, considering the franchise recently backed the cricketer to come up trumps as an “all-rounder” in the upcoming IPL 2024 season.

Arshdeep unleashes six-hitting fury ahead of IPL 2024

Arshdeep Singh, who recently starred in India’s ODI series win in South Africa and another T20I series triumph against Afghanistan at home, found time in between to turn up for Punjab in their opening game of the 2024 Ranji Trophy season in Hubli.

Batting at number 10, Arshdeep bludgeoned a huge six on the opening day of the contest, before his side dusted up for just 152 in 46.5 overs. The left-arm speedster later claimed three Karnakata wickets to finish with figures of 3-92 in the high-scoring innings.

Punjab, trailing by 362 runs at the halfway stage, responded back strongly with the bat in the second innings with a century from opener Prabhsimran Singh and a 91 from Abhishek Sharma. Arshdeep Singh, at number 10, pumped out 36 runs off his own from just 34 balls with three sizzling sixes and three boundaries.

The cricketer’s IPL base Punjab Kings also acknowledged his six-hitting spree by sharing the action-packed video on their socials. In the caption, the franchise backed young Arshdeep to come up trumps as an all-rounder in this year’s IPL 2024 season.

Arshdeep Singh was roped in by the Punjab Kings franchise back in 2019. The cricketer was also retained by the PBKS team management back in November 2023 for the forthcoming IPL 2024 event.

The much-awaited IPL 2024 season will likely commence during the final week of March.
