Nicholas Pooran has played two contrasting innings in the last couple of days. The southpaw teared apart the Afghanistan attack as he scored a brilliant 98 on a tricky surface.

However, in the ongoing clash against England, Pooran started on the front-foot, but failed to deliver the goods as he was dismissed for a scratchy looking 32-ball 36.

Archer gives the big breakthrough to ENG

It was Jofra Archer, who provided the big breakthrough for England. After going for a plenty in his first spell, Archer came back strong and took the all-important wicket of the dangerous Pooran.

The England seamer persisted with his plan and bowled a seam-up delivery, just outside the off. The plan was to get an outside-edge, and it worked wonders for England as Pooran went for a drive and the edge was safely taken by Buttler behind the stumps.

One brought the downfall of another as Andre Russell followed him back to the pavilion after getting knocked over for just 1.

Talking about the match, England won the toss and elected to bowl first. After giving a solid start, Brandon King retired hurt with a groin injury and was taken off the field. Pooran and Johnson Charles forged a partnership, but the momentum was provided by skipper Rovman Powell, who scored a quick-fire 17-ball 36.
