Promising fast bowler Anshul Kamboj helped India A get a dream start to their second league match of the ongoing Emerging Asia Cup tournament in Oman. Opening the bowling for India A, Kamboj trapped UAE's Mayank Rajesh Kumar with a magnificent delivery.
The incident occurred in the first over of UAE's innings after their skipper Basil Hameed won the toss and opted to bat first. The UAE openers came out with a positive mindset, taking on the Indian pacers from the word go.
After Aryansh Sharma took a single, Mayank Rajesh Kumar dominated Anshul Kamboj, hitting him for a boundary and a six. However, the Indian pacer soon took his revenge, dismissing him with a lethal nip-backer.
From over the wicket, Kamboj bowled a good-length delivery that came back sharply into Mayank after pitching around the off stump. As the batter missed the leg glance and got struck on his front pad, the Indian players, including Kamboj, appealed for an LBW.
The on-field umpire decided in the bowling team's favour, asking Mayank to make his way back to the dugout. The right-handed batter, who struck 16 runs against Oman, thus returned with ten runs under his tally.
India A Pacers Blow Away UAE's Top Order
After Kamboj drew the first blood for India A, Vaibhav Arora got rid of Aryansh Sharma to send shockwaves in the UAE camp. Nilansh Keswani and Vishnu Sukumaran also couldn't contribute much, being dismissed by Rasikh Salam. At the time of writing, UAE were tottering at 40 for five in 5.5 overs.
