Rajasthan Royals' star batter Riyan Parag has been making headlines, securing third place in the IPL Orange Cap race. His stellar performance in the IPL 2024 season has silenced many critics.

In a recent interview, Parag, an uncapped Indian batter, revealed his picks for the two current Greatest of All Time (GOAT) cricketers. He named Indian batting maestro Virat Kohli and Afghan all-rounder Rashid Khan as the modern-day GOATs.

During the interview, Parag was asked about his success mantra and his top team picks for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 in the USA and West Indies. When questioned about the modern-day GOATs, he responded:

"Virat Kohli for sure, but then that’s a very obvious answer."

When asked to name a non-Indian player who could be considered a modern-day GOAT, Parag chose Afghanistan's Rashid Khan. Despite a less impressive IPL season, Khan, a two-time IPL winner with SunRisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans, remains highly regarded:

"Someone else, I’d say… The GOAT… I think Rashid Khan. He’s been very consistent for the last, I don’t even remember how many years. I think he’s on that track for sure. An Indian for GOAT pick, aside from Kohli, none, not really."

Riyan Parag finished the IPL season with 573 runs from 16 games, competing closely with Kohli in the Orange Cap race before Kohli ended up as the third highest run-getter.
