Adam Zampa almost pulled off a sensational catch as Ibrahim Zadran got a lifeline early in the innings against Australia in the ongoing T20 World Cup match.

The Afghanistan side faced Australia in a crucial Super 8 contest. Put into bat by Mitch Marsh, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran were off to a solid start, racking up boundaries at regular intervals.

Zampa almost pulls off catch of the decade

The duo started the assault on Pat Cummins and then shifted their focus on Josh Hazlewood as Afghanistan eyed a big total.

With runs coming freely, Zadran slashed at hard against a Cummins delivery and got it from the outer part of his blade. The ball flew quickly towards the deep backward point region, and was going for a boundary when Zampa decided to turn into Superman. He flew to his right and got a hand to the ball as he almost took the catch of the decade.

Talking about the match, Afghanistan need to win the contest to stay alive in the race for the semi-finals. However, a win for the Aussies will ensure their elimination as both India and Australia will reach the next round.

At the moment, the Afghan side are going strong, and have accumulated 81 runs in 11.3 overs without losing a wicket.
