The ongoing IPL 2025 match between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) turned into a thrilling showdown between two Australian stars; Mitchell Marsh and Mitchell Starc. These two are usually teammates when playing for Australia, but on March 24, at the ACA–VDCA Cricket Stadium, they found themselves on opposite sides. And Marsh wasted no time in showing that friendship ends on the field.

Marsh Takes on Starc from the First Ball

After DC opted to bowl first, Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram came out to open for LSG. On the other end, with the new ball in hand, was Mitchell Starc, looking to make an early impact. But what followed was nothing short of a nightmare for him.

On the very first ball that Marsh faced, he announced his arrival in style; smashing a massive six over square leg. tarc bowled full on the stumps, trying to swing it back into the right-hander, but Marsh read it early, got inside the line, and flicked it over the ropes. The ball traveled 70 meters, setting the perfect tone for what was about to unfold.

Mitchell Marsh Goes Beast Mode in Starc’s Second Over

If Starc thought he could recover in his next over, he was in for a rude shock. When he returned to bowl the third over, Marsh completely dominated him, smashing four boundaries in a row—6, 4, 6, 4.  It was complete destruction done by Marsh against Starc and it turned things horrible for the DC.

At the time of writing, Lucknow Super Giants are at 52 for 1 in 5.2 overs, with Nicholas Pooran and Mitchell Marsh at the crease.
