Leicestershire batter Louis Kimber shattered numerous batting records through his run riot against Sussex in the 2024 County Championship Division Two match at Hove.

Chasing a monumental 464-run target on Day 4 of the four-day thriller, Louis Kimber brought down a 62-ball century and converted it into his magnum opus first-class score to take his team to the brink of a historic victory.

During the course of his batting blitzkrieg, Kimber even crashed English international Ollie Robinson for a 43-run over and brought up a 100-run eighth-wicket partnership with Ben Cox while being at it.

Batting at number 8 in a tense chase against Sussex, Louis Kimber arrived to the crease following the dismissal of Scott Currie at 144-6, soon to be 175-7 in pursuit of a daunting 464-run target.

With Leicestershire reeling in the decisive innings of the match, Kimber took charge and muscled a 37-ball half-century to take his team past the 200-run mark.

At a time when the cricketer reached 72* off 56 balls, the right-hander smeared two sixes and six boundaries off an extended Ollie Robinson over (nine balls) to race to a 62-ball unbeaten hundred. Kimber’s aggressive onslaught also brought up his 100-run partnership for the eighth wicket with wicketkeeper Ben Cox.

Louis Kimber’s moment of mayhem did not end with Ollie Robinson, as the 27-year-old also battered Nathan McAndrew, James Coles and Fynn Hudson-Prentice to bring up his 150* from just 81 deliveries, and blazed his way to 200* off 100.
