The Champions T20 Cup in Pakistan is currently moving in full flow and in the seventh match of the tournament, Markhors-PAK took on Stallions-PAK. Markhors won the game by just three runs and it was quite an entertaining game with both sides exchanging blows throughout the game.
There were plenty of standout performances, but it was the failure of 42-year-old Shoaib Malik that caught the eye of everyone. The veteran scored just 16 runs in 21 balls and failed to get going in a tricky run-chase when the team needed his experience in the middle.
Markhors Suffer First Loss Of Champions T20 Cup 2024
Stallions needed 32 in 18 balls and Mohammad Imran Junior came out to bowl a crucial 18th over. He came 'round the wicket and angled a back-of-a-length delivery into the batter. Malik made room to play it towards the off side, but he missed his late shot completely and the ball knocked over the stumps.
It was a big, big wicket for Markhors at that time and despite Taimur Khan trying his best in the final over, the Stallions fell short. In the first innings, Fakhar Zaman and Khawaja Nafay played handy knocks while Mohammad Nawaz delivered great finishing touches to take his side to 170.
Maaz Ahmed Sadaqat was the star for Stallions with his 82 off just 53 balls and he was the one who kept Stallions in the match. Markhors are at the top of the table with three wins in as many matches while Stallions have now suffered their first loss of the season.
