India's legendary batter Virat Kohli had a forgettable time with the bat, as he was dismissed cheaply on his Ranji Trophy comeback match for Delhi against Railways at Arun Jaitley Stadium. Coming at number four, Kohli could score only six runs before Himanshu Sangwan knocked him over with a magnificent delivery.
The incident occurred during the 28th over of Delhi's first innings when Virat Kohli had just joined the middle following Yash Dhull's dismissal. The talismanic batter showed glimpses of his class, hitting a glorious off drive. However, Sangwan took little time for his revenge, castling Kohli with a beautiful delivery.
From over the wicket, Himanshu Sangwan bowled a full-length delivery that jagged back into Kohli after pitching outside the off stump. As Kohli shuffled across to play a drive, the ball sneaked through the gap between his bat and pad, uprooting his off-stump.
Thus, Virat Kohli, who was expected to play a breakthrough knock, departed contributing only six runs to Delhi's tally.
Himanshu Sangwan's Exploits Leave Delhi In Shambles
Regarding the match, Delhi lost the prized wicket of Arpit Rana before Yash Dhull and Sanat Sangwan stitched a valuable 67-run partnership for the second wicket. However, Himanshu Sangwan's breathtaking spell left Delhi reeling, as the fast bowler claimed the wickets of Kohli and Sanat in quick succession. At the time of writing, Delhi were 116 for four, with Ayush Badoni and Sumit Mathur batting on 16* and 13*, respectively.
