The play on day 1 has been abandoned after rain played spoilsport at the Gabba in Brisbane. Australia were asked to bat first and could only put 28 runs on the board before heavy downpour took place and the players had to return to the pavilion. 

While, the rain spoiled the mood of excited cricket fans, who tuned in with the hopes of a brilliant cricketing session, the fans present in the stadium kept the atmosphere lively and were enjoying their time at the Gabba.

Meanwhile, Barmy Army- Special section of Team India fans, were also present at the stadium and they hogged the headlines after 1000+ Indian fans were spotted with Rishabh Pant masks in the stands. The special arrangement was done in order to remind the Aussies of Pant's heroics at the Gabba during the 2020/21 series when he scored the winning runs and breached the Gabba fortress to help India win the crucial series. 

Rishabh Pant Opens Up On Gabba Heroics On His Return To Iconic Stadium

On Saturday, December 14, Rishabh Pant returned to the iconic stadium for the first time since 2020/21 series. Notably, in the iconic Gabba Test, Pant scored a brilliant unbeaten 97 (118), which resulted in Australia's first defeat at the Gabba in 33 years.

"Definitely. It is an amazing feeling. When I entered the ground, it was buzzing, and I got a positive feeling. Pumped up. Loving to be back here. It gives a positive attitude and confidence in a series where things are level, and it makes you want to do well," said Rishabh Pant on his return.
