Mumbai Indians are up against Delhi Capitals in a crucial league stage encounter at the Wankhede. DC are chasing 181 and needed a good start with the bat. However, they lost Faf du Plessis and KL Rahul early, and the visitors were put under pressure early in a do-or-die game.
Abishek Porel Crumbles Under Pressure vs MI
The pressure was on Abishek Porel to deliver as he has been in good form this season, but he too was stumped by Ryan Rickelton off the delivery of Will Jacks. The wicket though created a bit of controversy, with many people accusing Mumbai Indians of cheating. The controversy erupted initially because in the camera angle shown on the screen, it seemed that Porel's feet was on the ground when the bails were taken off.
However, the side-angle replay later clearly showed that the leg was in the air and Porel was indeed out. Thus, the claims of MI cheating against DC at the Wankhede are completely wrong. The wicket of Abishek Porel reduced DC to 27 for three and MI took complete control of the game.
After Porel's wicket, Vipraj Nigam came out with aggressive intent and scored some runs. However, Mitchell Santner got the better of him and then another star player, Tristan Stubbs departed for two off four balls.
DC are chasing 181 after Suryakumar Yadav played a stunning knock of 73 under pressure. This is a must-win game for Delhi Capitals as they would be knocked out of the playoffs race if they lose. MI, on the other hand, will qualify for the playoffs and would seal the final place in the top four.
