Virat Kohli completes 7,000 runs in SENA countries

Through the course of his 38 and 76-run knocks at Centurion Park against South Africa, Virat Kohli completed 7,000 runs in SENA nations across all international formats. In doing so, the modern-day batting legend became only the second player in history to achieve the significant landmark after all-time great Sachin Tendulkar.

Virat Kohli has tallied 3,426 of those runs in just 70 all-format innings in Australia and another 2,637 runs within the confinements of testing English conditions (73 innings). In South Africa, the right-hander has minted 1,881 runs across all formats at an alluring average of 58.78, and the remaining 953 of those runs in New Zealand from 25 innings are at 41.43.

Interestingly, Virat Kohli also completed 2,000 runs in the calendar year 2023, and he currently sits on a pile of 2,048 runs this year from just 36 innings at an astonishing average of 66.06. He crossed the 2,000-run mark in a single calendar year for the record seventh time in his career, thus going past previous record holders Kumar Sangakkara (six) and Sachin Tendulkar (five).

Kohli will now turn up for Team India in their second Test match against hosts South Africa. The much-awaited series decider is set to be hosted by Cape Town between January 3 and January 7.
