Swashbuckling young batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi oozed his class with the bat as he hammered a stunning century for India u-19 in the ongoing red-ball affair against their Australian counterparts. Opening the batting for India u19, Suryavanshi smashed 113 runs off just 86 balls, ensuring a formidable first innings score for the visiting side.

Suryavanshi sustains purple patch, Mhatre records fourth straight failure

Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Ayush Mhatre have been in the limelight since the IPL 2025, where they represented Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings, respectively. While these two young cricketers were at par in terms of their impact in the IPL 2025, Suryavanshi has comprehensively outperformed Mhatre in youth international matches across formats.

In response to Australia u-19 team's first innings total of 243 runs, India under-19 had a quick-fire start, with Suryavanshi and Mhatre adding 47 runs in just five overs. However, the skipper failed to convert his start into a significant score yet again, being dismissed by Hayden Schiller for 21 runs.

This was Mhatre's fourth straight failure on the tour, having registered scores of 6, 0 and 4 in the ODI series earlier. On the contrary, Suryavanshi was class apart, dominating the opposition with his fireworks. He brought up his century in just 78 balls, recording the fastest ever hundred in youth Tests on Australian soil.

The explosive batter played his trademark aggressive game, scoring 113 runs with the help of nine fours and eight gigantic maximums. His power-packed hundred ensured India decimated the Aussie attack, securing a crucial lead in rather quick time.
