IND-W vs SL-W: How the match has panned out so far

Sri Lankan captain Chamari Athapaththu won the toss and invited India Women to bat first. Sri Lanka's new ball bowlers got genuine swing under overcast conditions, testing the Indian openers with their skills and accuracy.

The Lankans' disciplined bowling effort eventually paid rich dividends, with Udeshika Prabodhani getting the prized scalp of Smriti Mandhana. The southpaw could score only eight runs off ten balls before the left-arm seamer got rid of her.

After India Women lost their first wicket on 14, Pratika Rawal and Harleen Deol steadied the ship, forming a solid unbeaten stand of 29 runs before rain played spoilsport. India Women were 43 for one in ten overs, with Pratika and Harleen batting on 18* and 15*, respectively.

Update: The match has resumed after a long delay, but the game has been reduced to 48 overs per innings.
