Australia vs New Zealand (Source: @altamashi25/X.com)
The trans-Tasman rivalry is all set to resume on October 1 with New Zealand taking on Australia in the three-match T20I series. The series is an important one for both the teams as they look to fine-tune their preparation for the T20 World Cup in 2026.
New Zealand have a new-look squad for the series with captain Mitchell Santner missing out due to injury. Kane Williamson is also not there, but Devon Conway is back. Tim Seifert did well in the tri-series in Zimbabwe, and so he would be looking to continue his form against Australia too. The likes of Rachin Ravindra and Daryl Mitchell also would be key players in the series while the pace department will be led by Matt Henry.
Australia, on the other hand, would be without the services of Glenn Maxwell and Josh Inglis. Both of them are injured but Australia still have lot of firepower in their batting line-up. Travis Head would be looking to come back to form after some indifferent performances in recent times, while Tim David would be itching to get going on small grounds in New Zealand. Marcus Stoinis is also back, and he would be looking to show his prowess after being out of favour in the last few series.
Therefore, it promises to be a cracking series between two quality teams. Thus, here is all you need to know about the three-match T20I series.
All three T20 Internationals between New Zealand and Australia will be played at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui, New Zealand.
