Unplayable Yorkers! Indian Malinga With Slingy Action Breathes Fire In TNPL

The TNPL 2025 is up and running in style, and the action so far has produced some exciting action. Many young and experienced players have stepped up and one of them is V Athisayaraj Davidson, the 33-year-old right-arm pacer. He has been a consistent performer in the TNPL over the years and is known for his action that is similar to Lasith Malinga.

In the seventh match of the 2025 season, the pacer delivered a masterclass of death-bowling. He picked three wickets at the backend with his superb yorkers and slower balls which derailed Salem Spartans' charge.

Davidson Delivers Death-Bowling Masterclass In TNPL

The yorkers from Davidson were great tributes to Lasith Malinga as he picked two wickets in the 18th over. First, he removed H Kumar with an unplayable yorker from 'round the wicket. It was right in the blockhole, and Kumar just could not get his bat down in time. 

On the final ball of that over, the angle was same and the length too. The batter was Sandhu this time: he tried to heave it towards the leg side, but the ball missed his blade and it shattered the stumps again.

His third wicket came on the final ball of the innings. Davidson tried a yorker, but bowled a low full toss. Rajagopal tried to slam it down the ground, but he hit it off the bottom of his blade and ended up giving an easy catch to long on. Overall, Davidson's spell kept Spartans under 180. 

Davidson has 75 wickets in just 50 matches in Tamil Nadu Premier League so far and was quite impressive in the last season, with 13 wickets in seven games. He has started this season with a bang now, and would try to grab more limelight with his trademark yorkers.
