The WTC final between South Africa and Australia is turning out to be an interesting one, with the Proteas fighting back on Day 2 after a dismal batting performance. Australia came into their second innings with a lead of 74 and were hoping to stretch it out of their opponents' reach.

The South African bowlers, however, have not allowed that to happen and have got wickets at regular intervals. Ngidi bowled an inspired spell, picking some big wickets including that of Steve Smith. Mulder also chipped in with one breakthrough, a huge scalp of Travis Head for a score of just nine.

The left-hander has a knack for taking games away from the opposition with his aggressive batting and so his wicket was crucial for South Africa in a low-scoring game.

Mulder Outfoxes Travis Head With A Clever Change Of Length

It was the 24th over and Mulder had a clear plan in place for Travis Head. The initial three balls of the over were a bit shorter in length against both batters. The line was also a tad wider but Mulder very cleverly changed the length on the fourth delivery and angled it into Head.

The Australian tried to drive it, but the ball beat the inside edge of his blade. It brushed his pad and shattered the stumps to leave the Kangaroos in all sorts of trouble at 66 for 6. Check the video here.

It was the second-consecutive low score for Travis Head and Proteas clearly got their execution right against the southpaw. The wicket also speaks a lot about Wiaan Mulder's bowling skills, and his utility as a cricketer. The wicket is likely to give him a lot of confidence and South Africa would be hoping that he delivers with the bat too in the final innings.
