The U19 India Women's team marches on to the Final of the U19 Women's T20 World Cup after defeating England in a confident victory by 9-wickets. India’s spin trio set the stage with disciplined bowling, while their batters showcased maturity beyond their years.

England’s middle-order frailty and wayward bowling proved costly, ending their World Cup journey. India now advances in the Final on February 2 against South Africa U19 Women.

However, let's  take a look here, at how the semi-final match panned out against England in Bayuemas Oval:

India vs England Highlights: England’s Top-Order Spark Fizzles Amid Middle-Order Collapse

England’s innings began brightly as Davina Perrin (45 off 40) and Abi Norgrove (30 off 25) combined for a 44-run partnership, punishing loose deliveries with aggressive strokeplay. Perrin’s sixes and Norgrove’s flair hinted at a competitive total.

However, India’s spinners turned the tide. Parunika Sisodia (3/21) struck twice in the 4th over, dismissing Jemima Spence (9) and Trudy Johnson (0) to halt momentum. Aayushi Shukla (2/21) removed Perrin and Norgrove in quick succession, triggering a collapse from 81-3 to 92-8. Vaishnavi Sharma (3/23) mopped up the tail, with England losing 5 wickets for 11 runs in 21 balls.

India vs England Highlights: England Fails To Defend Against Resilient India

Defending a modest total of 113, England’s bowlers lacked penetration and discipline. Pacers Charlotte Lambert (0/10) and Tilly Coleman (0/17) started tightly but were overshadowed by erratic spells from Prisha Thanawala (0/31) and Trudy Johnson. India’s batters exploited width and overpitched deliveries, with 15 boundaries in the chase. Only Brett claimed a wicket, while fielding lapses and extras (15) compounded England’s struggles.

India vs England Highlights: Kamilini-Trisha Powerplay Blitz Seals the Chase

India’s chase was a masterclass in composure. Openers G Kamilini (56* off 50) and Gongadi Trisha (35 off 29) dismantled England’s attack with a 60-run stand inside 9 overs. Trisha dominated the Powerplay, hitting 5 fours at a strike rate of 120.69.

Kamilini anchored the innings, rotating strike effortlessly and capitalizing on England’s 15 extras (10 wides, 1 no-ball). Phoebe Brett (1/30) broke the partnership by dismissing Trisha, but Sanika Chalke (11*) joined Kamilini to finish the job with 5 overs to spare.
