Gongadi Trisha slammed a historic century off just 53 balls as she took a single off Maceira’s 18th over to bring up her milestone. With that ton, she has become the first-ever player to score a century in the history of the U19 Women's T20 World Cup.
Moreover, her unbeaten 110 off 59 deliveries, decorated with 13 fours and 4 sixes, powered India to a commanding 208 at the loss of wicket. This century broke records and also surpassed the previous highest score in the tournament, which was held by England's Grace Scrivens when she scored 93 against Ireland in 2023.
Trisha's form throughout the tournament has been phenomenal, which makes her the second-highest run-scorer in this edition. Her achievements build on her previous success in the U19 Women's Asia Cup, where she was the top run-scorer and helped India clinch the title.
Trisha’s heroics helped India clinch a dominant 150-run victory after Scotland U19 Women were bundled out on 58 runs in the second inning. With that, India U19 Women topped Super Six Group 1 with four wins in four games.
