Rohit Sharma is known not just for his incredible batting skills but also for his humorous on-field moments. During the India vs Pakistan Champions Trophy 2025 match at the Dubai International Stadium on February 23, Sunday, fans witnessed one such hilarious incident that quickly became the talk of the town.
In a moment that went viral, Rohit Sharma was caught on camera playfully abusing Kuldeep Yadav. The light-hearted exchange happened when Kuldeep confidently urged Rohit to take a review after an LBW appeal against Khushdil Shah in the 41st over of Pakistan’s innings.
Rohit, trusting his bowler’s instincts, went ahead with the review. After the decision was made, Rohit jokingly said, "Tu gaya beta aaj…" (You're done for today, buddy)
The review turned out to be an Umpire’s Call, meaning the batsman was given NOT OUT, but India retained their review.
The LBW appeal occurred when Kuldeep delivered a googly around off-stump, which turned back in. Khushdil Shah attempted a reverse sweep but missed the ball completely, getting hit on the front pad. Kuldeep, as usual, seemed confident about the dismissal, prompting Rohit to take the review. UltraEdge showed no bat involved, and ball tracking revealed the ball was just clipping the leg stump, resulting in an Umpire’s Call.
Kuldeep Yadav Impresses With Ball
Despite this funny moment, Kuldeep Yadav delivered a stellar performance, taking three crucial wickets and putting Pakistan under pressure. Early in the innings, Pakistan struggled, with Babar Azam scoring 23 runs and Imam-ul-Haq managing only 10. However, Mohammed Rizwan and Saud Shakeel stabilised their innings with a partnership of 104 runs before Axar Patel dismissed Rizwan for 46 and Shakeel was out for 62.
At the time of writing, Pakistan are at 240 for 8 in 49 overs, with Khushdil Shah and Haris Rauf at the crease.
