The Dindigul Dragons and Siechem Madurai Panthers are set to collide in match number eight of the ongoing TNPL 2023 season. The match, scheduled to be played on June 18, is the second of the doubleheader in Dindigul’s NPR College Ground.
The Dindigul Dragons, under Ravichandran Ashwin’s leadership, won their opening match of the tournament against Ba11sy Trichy with ease. Ashwin himself excelled with the ball, alongside Indian international Varun Chakaravarthy, as the two spinners claimed five wickets between them to dust out the Trichy for just 120.
Later, the Dragons batters overhauled their target with more than five overs to spare.
On the other hand, the Siechem Madurai Panthers went down to Nellai Royal Kings in their tournament opener by six wickets. The Panthers batting faltered in the game, despite opener Hari Nishanth scoring 64 at the top of the order. Managing just 126 on the board, the bowlers failed to contain the moderate total as the Kings concluded the proceedings inside 14 overs.
In head-to-head battle between the two sides, the Dragons once again hold the edge, as they have defeated the Panthers six times in their nine encounters.
