The third T20I between India and South Africa will go down into the memory lanes because of a special Hundred by the young Indian batter, Tilak Varma. The two teams are taking on each other at the SuperSport Park in Centurion, South Africa.
The South African skipper, Aiden Markram won the toss for the third time in the series and put India to bat. Sanju Samson, the centurion of the first was dismissed for a duck in the first over of the game by Marco Jansen.
Tilak Varma Played An Aggressive Knock To Score His Maiden T20I Century
Although India lost the early wicket, the pressure was not evident on the two Indian batters in the middle. Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Varma took the attack to the opposition and built a solid strong platform for the team. Sharma played a fiery knock and scored a dazzling half-century of 50 runs from 25 balls.
Even after the dismissal of Sharma, Tilak Varma looked unaffected. He continued to take the attack and built his innings from strength to strength. It was in the 19th over of the innings that Varma reached three figure mark of just 51 deliveries.
Tilak Varma Thanks Suryakumar Yadav For His Hundred
Immediately after he completed his Hundred, Varma pointed his fingers towards the dressing room and smiled. It was as if Varma was making a grateful gesture to some one in the dressing room. Notably, Suryakumar Yadav demoted himself from his usual number three position in the T20s to give Tilak Varma an opportunity up the order.
The young Southpaw repaid the faith his skipper showed in him, and it was probably a thank you for Suryakumar Yadav.
