T20 WC 2024 Super 8, USA vs ENG | Playing 11 Prediction, Cricket Tips, Preview & Live Streaming

USAvsENG preview -(X.com)USAvsENG preview -(X.com)

In a do-or-die match for both teams, co-hosts USA will lock horns against England at the Kensington Oval in Barbados on June 23. Defending Champions England are coming fresh off a defeat against South Africa, while the USA faced humiliation against West Indies.

It will be the 3rd and final Super 8 game for both teams and the loser would crash out of the tournament. England are on 2 points in two games, even a win against the USA would keep them at 4 points and they would have to hope for South Africa to beat West Indies, who are also at two points in two games. Even with a win for West Indies, net-run rate would come into play.

A defeat for England will also have a slight chance for them to advance further only if West Indies lose and lose by a big margin. Talking about the USA, they need to win against the Three Lions and have no mathematical possibility to advance for semi-finals if they face another defeat.

This article will shed light on the preview, pitch report, playing XI, and broadcasting details of the upcoming USA-England match.

Team Preview

USA

The USA have played well in this ongoing tournament, but mistakes at crucial stages have cost them matches. Even against South Africa and West Indies, the middle order was disappointing and no one took the onus to build a partnership. Corey Anderson's poor form is a big worry for the side and they would hope for him to fire against England.

Further, skipper Monank Patel has missed the last three games and there are reports that he might be out for the rest of the tournament. In this case, Aaron Jones will lead the side.

The positive for the USA so far has been their ability to strike early with the new ball, courtesy of Saurabh Netravalkar. The left-arm seamer has been bowling wonderfully. In the batting, Andries Gous has also made a mark and amassed 211 runs in five games with an average of 52.75.

England

England have been in great form and it was a shock to see the Jos Buttler-led side lose against South Africa in a situation where they required 24 off 18 with six wickets in hand. There isn't much to rectify for the Three Lions in terms of playing XI, but the defeat has now put England in a difficult situation in their group.

Skipper Jos Buttler is yet to fire and score big, while the positive is that Harry Brook has been consistent with the bat in the middle order and nearly won the game for his side against the Proteas.

USA vs ENG: Winners Prediction

England are in top form and it feels that they would register a comfortable win over USA, who have failed to make a mark so far in the Super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup. Further, England's middle-order batters have taken the onus to put runs on the board unlike the co-hosts.
