Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants locked horns in the 45th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The match is being played at the Wankhede Stadium on April 27. During the match, MI’s star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah reached a big milestone, he broke the record of Sri Lankan legend Lasith Malinga to become the highest wicket-taker for Mumbai Indians in IPL history.

The big moment came in the third over of LSG’s innings when Bumrah came to bowl and made an instant impact in his first over. He bowled a back-of-length delivery aimed at the middle and leg stump.
Aiden Markram tried to flick it off his pads but ended up hitting it off the inside edge. The ball flew straight to Naman Dhir at backward square, who completed a good catch.
This was a huge wicket for Mumbai Indians, as Markram has been one of the top scorers in the tournament.
MI Post A Target Of 216 For LSG To Chase
Earlier, LSG won the toss and chose to bowl first. Mumbai’s openers, Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton, gave them a strong start. However, Mayank Yadav, who made his comeback to IPL, quickly removed Rohit Sharma for just 12 runs.
After that, Ryan Rickelton and Suryakumar Yadav built a solid partnership of 55 runs. Ryan Rickelton scored 58 runs off 32 balls before getting dismissed to Digvesh Rathi, while Suryakumar Yadav smashed 54 runs off just 28 balls. Meanwhile, Naman Dhir added a quick 25* off 11 balls, and Corbin Bosch chipped in with 20 off 10 balls. MI ended up setting up a target of 216 runs for the LSG.
For Lucknow, Mayank Yadav and Avesh Khan took two wickets each.
