Surrey, under Rory Burns, have trounced the visiting Yorkshire troops by 10 wickets at The Oval in London. The win marked their eighth of the ongoing 2022 County Championship as they continue their unbeaten run this season.
The win also helped them secure this year’s Division One title as they will be lifting the trophy at Manchester later this month.

Surrey bowlers, led by Daniel Worrall and West Indies’ import Kemar Roach, shot out the remaining Yorkshire batters for just 208. Worrall himself polished off the tail after dismissing visiting opener Finlay Bean during the twilight stages of Day 2.
The speedster finished with figures of 4-61 and ensured that his side were chasing a paltry total of 55 on Day 3.
Surrey captain Rory Burns launched a scathing attack in the final innings of the match while his partner Ryan Patel happily played as the second fiddle. The skipper just faced 16 balls in the innings, and struck six of them for boundaries, including one to finish off the proceedings.
The win marked Surrey’s 21st Championship title, one which they will be lifting following their final clash of the season against Lancashire next week.
