In a latest development, one member of the Pakistan's men's cricket team has tested positive for Covid-19 ahead of the 2nd T20I against England in Karachi on Thursday, September 2022.

Pakistan will host England in the 2nd game of the 7-match rubber on Thursday in a bid to avenge the crushing defeat that the home side suffered in the opening.

However, their contingent has been marred with the infiltration of Covid, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed ahead of the match.

The PCB confirmed that the said official will not travel with the team to the ground and will stay in managed isolation.

The 2nd T20I, however, will go as per the current schedule.

Can Pakistan avenge their defeat to England in the 1st T20I?

Meanwhile, Pakistan will look to shrug off their poor performance [lost by 6 wickets] from the last game and end their run of three consecutive defeats in the shortest format of the game.

After having lost consecutive games to Sri Lanka in the recent Asia Cup, there was a lot of scrutiny around the style of play of their opening duo of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan.

The duo did show a marked improvement in their approach during the 1st T20I as they hammered 85 runs inside 10 overs.

However, the middle and lower-order failed to back it up, leaving Pakistan with an underwhelming total of 158, which England proceeded to chase down in a canter.

The 2nd ODI will take place on Thursday followed by the 3rd and final game of the Karachi leg on September 23 and 25. The caravan will then move to Lahore, where the last 3 matches will be played on September 28, 30 and October 2.
