The Andrew Strauss-led ECB's High-Performance review has proposed radical changes to the English domestic system.

Commissioned in the wake of England's shambolic 0-4 drubbing at the hands of Australia in the Ashes, the High Performance Review, named 'the red-ball reset' has proposed cutting down on championship games, T20 Blast fixtures while relegating the One-day cup into a 2nd grade tournament.

All this is being proposed to give a clear window to ECB's brainchild 'The Hundred' in the month of August.

Here are the proposed changes to the English domestic structure

The start of Division 01 county championship has been moved from April to May, and it is set to run throughout the summer with each county set to play 10 games.

Division 02 has been divided into two blocks of six teams each, with one promotion place decided via a playoff fixture at the end of the season.

The Royal London One Day will likely be played in a knockout format, including minor counties, during a single block in April.

The T20 Blast will likely take place during the May-July window, with each team set to play 10 games instead of 14.

No white-ball tournament other than 'The Hundred' will take place in the month of August, with 'first class cricket festivals' also likely to held to offer players that are not playing in the Hundred to compete.

Any changes to the domestic structure will be implemented only after 2/3rd counties vote in its favour. The ECB is hopeful for the same in November, and if approved, the changes are set to be implemented from the 2024 summer.
