Indian all-rounder Sneh Rana has been taken to a hospital following a complaint of nausea during her side’s must-win second ODI match against the visiting Australian Women in Mumbai. Earlier in the game, the cricketer was involved in a nasty collision with teammate Pooja Vastrakar.

The incident occurred during the 25th over of the Australian innings upfront, prompting the Indian support staff to escort her off the field for a while.

Sneh Rana taken to hospital after collision

Indian cricketer Sneh Rana complained of headache after her collision with teammate Pooja Vastrakar during her team’s second ODI match against Australia Women. While the 29-year-old was taken off the field in the 25th over of the Australian innings itself, she was taken to a hospital for scans later in the evening.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed the same during the Indian run-chase in the second half of the game, and also announced Harleen Deol as her concussion substitute for the match.

Despite her collision with India’s new-ball speedster, Rana did return in the Australian innings to bowl out her 10-over spell. She even trapped the visitor’s middle-order batter Ashleigh Gardner to finish with figures of 1-59.

Her spell, coupled with Deepti Sharma’s sizzling five-fer restricted the Australian Women to 258-8 from their 50 overs. Prior to the match, visiting skipper Alyssa Healy had won the toss and opted to bat first.

The ‘Women in Blue’ entered the contest with a 0-1 deficit, considering they had lost the opening ODI of their three-match home series by six wickets.
