In a remarkable achievement, stylish Indian batter Smriti Mandhana completed 5000 runs in Women’s One-Day Internationals. The southpaw achieved the remarkable feat in India’s ongoing Women’s World Cup match against Australia.

After winning the toss and opting to bowl first, Australia didn’t have a great start with the ball, as Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal formed a scintillating partnership. While Rawal took a bit of time to get her eyes in, Mandhana played the aggressor’s role to perfection, amassing a magnificent half-century. 

Her stunning six off Kim Garth helped Mandhana breach the 5000-run mark in Women’s ODIs, entering an elusive list comprising legends of Women’s cricket. She is the youngest as well as quickest to unlock the feat.
