When Rohit Sharma walks into Shivaji Park, you can almost feel the buzz in the air. The Hitman has been grinding hard ahead of India’s upcoming ODI series against Australia and Mumbai fans have been turning up in droves just to watch their hero in action.

Hitman in full flow at Shivaji Park

But this time, something unexpected stole the show as Rohit Sharma accidentally smashed a ball onto his own Lamborghini during practice. The former India captain has been sweating it out at the All Heart Cricket Academy inside Shivaji Park.

Rohit, now focused purely on batting after handing the captaincy baton to Shubman Gill, trained for nearly two hours on October 10. Under the watchful eye of his long-time friend and mentor Abhishek Nayar, Rohit went through a rigorous session.

Fans gathered in huge numbers around the nets and every time Rohit found the middle of the bat, the crowd went berserk. Even his wife Ritika Sajdeh was there, quietly watching her husband go about his business.

When the six went wrong

In true Hitman style, Rohit started clearing the nets with ease. But then came the moment that had everyone gasping. He launched a massive sweep shot: clean, crisp, and effortless. The ball sailed over the boundary, out of the park and found an unfortunate target, his own Lamborghini parked nearby.

Rohit literally dented his own car with his power-hitting. The sound of the thud was followed by a collective “Oof!” from the crowd and before anyone could believe what just happened, someone yelled, “Bhai, gaadi pe gaya!”

The clip of the incident is now doing rounds on social media with fans cracking jokes and sharing memes.

Focused and fired up for the comeback

Despite the amusing mishap, Rohit didn’t lose focus for a second. He went straight back to batting, facing one delivery after another with that trademark calmness. Reports suggest he has been spending extra time against short-pitched deliveries to make sure he is ready for the pace and bounce in Australia.

His preparation has been closely overseen by Mumbai Indians’ physio Amit Dube, who has making sure Rohit stays in peak shape. The 38-year-old hasn’t played since the Champions Trophy final in March and with India set to play three ODIs in Australia from October 19, fans can’t wait to see him back in blue.
