The stage is set for a riveting battle as Pakistan will take on the hosts, Sri Lanka, in the first of three T20I matches at the Dambulla International Stadium. The series provides a great chance for both teams to test their team combination and bench strength before the T20 World Cup next month.

Pakistan will head into the first T2OI oozing with confidence after beating the same Sri Lankan team in the tri-nation tournament recently, and they will start as slight favourites. However, in home conditions, Sri Lanka can beat anyone on their day, as they will look to avenge the loss they suffered in the tri-series finale.

Salman Ali Agha won the toss, and the Pakistan skipper had no hesitation in electing to field first as there is rain predictions and DLS might come into play later in the night. Shadab Khan, the forgotten all-rounder is included in the playing XI as he makes his return after 6 months.

Shadab last played for Pakistan in June, and since then, he has been out of the T20I side.
