Just when things started to get better for the Australians in the ongoing World Cup match against Sri Lanka, the rain god decided to play the spoilsport.

There were predictions for light shower today in Lucknow, and the predictions came true as the players rushed back to the pavilion, with the entire square getting covered by the groundsmen.

So far, rain has stayed away from World Cup 2023, but today has been an exception as the players now wait for the rain to stop.

As per the weather report, there are still predictions for a scattered thunderstorm, later in the evening. The temperature will hover around 23 degrees, but the rain won't be strong enough to affect the outcome of the match.

Talking about the contest, Sri Lanka were off to a flying start, courtesy of some brilliant batting by Kusal Perera and Pathum Nissanka. The duo added 125 runs for the opening wicket, and were all set to score big for their side.

However, some inspired bowling by Pat Cummins and spme brilliant work in the field by David Warner has pulled thingd back for the Aussies.

At the moment, the Lankan Lions are in a spot of bother, with the score of 178/4.
