[Watch] David Warner Plucks A Stunner As Pat Cummins' Lethal Bouncer Dismisses Pathum Nissanka

Continuing their poor run in the ongoing World Cup, Australia had a mediocre start to their third group-stage game against Sri Lanka in Lucknow. Besides dropping a few catches, the Aussies didn't opt for DRS when the on-field umpire declared Kusal Perera not out on a LBW appeal even though it looked dead-plumb in real time. However, skipper Pat Cummins finally brought smiles back to the Australian camp, dismissing a well-set Pathum Nissanka with a well-targeted bumper.

The incident occurred in the 22nd over when Cummins brought himself back into the attack in the pursuit of a breakthrough.

His decision paid rich dividends, as he got rid of Nissanka with a lethal bouncer in the fourth ball of his over.

After conceding a boundary, Cummins bowled a bouncer, with Nissanka top-edging the hook shot. The ball flew towards the square leg, where veteran opener David Warner took a spectacular diving catch to end Nissanka's long stay in the middle.

However, after the right-hander departed, keeper-batter Kusal Mendis replaced him in the middle to steady the ship alongside Kusal Perera. As of writing, the Lankans are well-placed at 146 for one in 24.1 overs, with Mendis and Perera batting on 71* and 4*, respectively.
