The first Test of the five-match Test series between India and England is going right down to the wire. The home team started off the final day with a dominating opening stand, but India made a strong comeback after the rain break in the second session.

Prasidh Krishna and Shardul Thakur got important breakthroughs, and then Ravindra Jadeja got the big wicket of Ben Stokes in the 68th over, with England still 69 runs behind the target of 371. The wicket was a crucial one, and it showed in the celebration of the Indian captain, Shubman Gill. The young leader roared in anger as soon as he took the catch, and his actions had shades of Virat Kohli's vintage celebrations.

Shubman Gill's India Show Fight In Headingley

Ben Stokes lost his wicket while playing a reverse sweep, a shot that has helped him score many runs in the past. He got a top-edge, and Shubman Gill, standing at short third man, took an easy catch. Stokes' wicket was the fifth one to fall for England, and it has certainly put the home team under bit of pressure. However, India still have a long way to go as England have lot of batting left in the tank.

However, the fightback shown by the Indian team has clearly brought back the memories of the glory days under Virat Kohli. The celebrations from Shubman Gill are also looking similar, and Indian fans would be hoping that he manages to bring positive results as captain. Shubman Gill, just like Kohli used to do, also scored runs with the bat, hitting a fluent century in his maiden innings as a Test skipper.
