One of India's most promising talents, Shubman Gill regained his lost form last evening against West Indies, during the third and final One-Day International (ODI) at Trinidad. Gill after a lean patch since March 2022, struck 85 for India as they defeated Windies by 200 runs in the series decider and clinched the three-ODI series 2-1.
Gill, 23, also created a massive ODI record during his knock, surpassing Pakistan's Imam-Ul-Haq's tally of 1,381 runs for the most runs after 27 innings. Gill is currently on 1,437 runs from 27 innings, ahead of Haq, and South Africa's Rassie Van Der Dussan, who is third with 1,353 runs.

Gill, who made his ODI debut in 2019, has scored 1,437 runs from 27 matches, which include four centuries, four fifties, and one double-hundred.
The Gujarat Titans batter, who fell for 85, could have become the fastest Indian batter to five ODI hundred if he had managed to breach the 100-run mark in Trinidad. Out-of-favour opener Shikhar Dhawan holds this esteemed Indian record for scoring five centuries in 28 innings.
