In a high-scoring contest at Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas, Shimron Hetmyer stole the spotlight with a sensational half-century that rewrote the Major League Cricket (MLC) record books. His blazing 50 off just 18 balls and a knock of unbeaten 64 runs, which included 4 fours and 6 sixes, powered Seattle Orcas to a stunning five-wicket win over Los Angeles Knight Riders in the 20th match of MLC 2025.

Walking in after a mini-collapse, the left-hander soaked up the pressure and launched a brutal counterattack. His fearless approach broke the back of the chase, as Seattle recovered from 127/4 in the 13th over to finish the job with one ball to spare, ending on 206/5 in 19.5 overs.

Earlier, Andre Russell’s unbeaten 65 off 39 and Rovman Powell’s quick-fire 43 off 21* had helped Los Angeles Knight Riders post a formidable 202/4. For the Orcas, Aaron Jones played a crucial supporting role with his 73 off 38, setting the platform for Hetmyer’s final flourish.
