In the 2nd T20I between Pakistan and South Africa, Shaheen Afridi has dealt a heavy blow as he walked off the field after a nasty injury during one of his overs. The incident occurred on the 2nd ball of the 17th over when Afridi was hit on his collarbone.
Afridi bowled a juicy half volley and Rassie Van der Dussen whacked one down the ground nad gave no time to Shaheen to move out of the way. The ball hit Afridi on his collarbone like a tracer bullet and he immediately called the physio.
Afridi Leaves The Field In Pain
The southpaw was in immense pain, but returned to complete his final over after a few minutes. Afridi bowled the remaining four deliveries and then left the field as he had completed his quota of four overs.
Shaheen Afridi can consider himself to be lucky as the replay showed that the ball missed by his face by a whisper. He could have been seriously hurt if it had hit his face. Nonetheless, an update on his current injury is yet to be given, but by the looks of it, Shaheen looks fine.
In the 2nd match, South Africa beat Pakistan by seven wickets to clinch the series. The third T20I will take place on December 14 and Pakistan might look to rest Shaheen to fully recover from the blow. Talking about Shaheen's performance in the 2nd T20I, he had a day to forget as he leaked 37 runs in his four overs and also went wicketless.
