Australia A Women, under the leadership of stalwart Alyssa Healy with the bat, registered a convincing win over India A Women in the third ODI at the Ian Healy Stadium in Brisbane. The contest, which featured strong bowling and batting displays, saw the hosts maintain control for most parts of the game to seal the result in their favour in the final ODI of the series. Let's take a look at how things panned out in Brisbane.

Shafali-Yastika Effort Pushes India's Total To 216

India A Women were bowled out for 216 in 47.4 overs after choosing to bat in the third ODI against Australia A Women. The innings revolved around Shafali Verma and Yastika Bhatia, who provided the bulk of the scoring but lacked long partnerships to push the total higher.

Shafali set the tone with an aggressive 52 off 59 balls, striking seven boundaries and guiding the side to 86 for 1. Yastika then played a composed hand, making 42 from 54 balls, but her dismissal at 169 for 5 left the lower order exposed.

Aussie Bowlers Peg Back India A

Australia A’s bowlers struck at regular intervals, never allowing India A to settle. Skipper Tahlia McGrath was the standout, returning 3 for 40, while spinners Ella Hayward (2/43) and Anika Learoyd (2/16) applied pressure in the middle overs.

Sianna Ginger also chipped in with two wickets, including the dangerous Shafali. Despite small contributions from Radha Yadav and Tanuja Kanwar, India A collapsed in the final phase, falling short of a stronger total.

Healy Leads Australia's Win With Unbeaten Ton

Chasing 217, the hosts got off to a flying start with Alyssa Healy leading from the front. The skipper played a breathtaking knock of 137 off 85 balls*, smashing 24 fours and 3 sixes at a strike rate of 161.18. She was well supported by Tahlia Wilson, who scored a brisk 59 off 51 balls, putting up a 137-run opening stand that took the game away from India A.

After Wilson’s dismissal, Rachel Trenaman (21)* partnered Healy to complete the chase comfortably in just 27.5 overs. India A’s bowlers struggled for control, as Australia A sealed the series in style.
