India and Australia are up against each other in the all-important semifinal of the Women's World Cup 2025. Australia have won the toss and are batting first, and their skipper Alyssa Healy is also back in the XI.

Healy destroyed India when the two teams clashed in the group stage encounter, and India needed to get rid of her quickly in the semifinal. They had a great chance to do so in the third over itself when Healy was batting on two, but the Indian skipper dropped a sitter.

It was a fullish delivery, swinging into the right-hander. Healy, who was struggling to get going, tried to loft it over the in-field but mistimed it badly, and the ball looped up towards the extra cover region. Harmanpreet Kaur moved to her right and got both hands to it. However, the ball popped out of her hand, and the Indian captain made a big blunder early in the big game.

Kranti Goud does damage control with wicket of Alyssa Healy

Alyssa Healy could have hurt India badly given her aggressive approach to batting. Luckily for India, she lost her wicket without making much of an impact as Kranti Goud cleaned her with a beauty in the sixth over.

Thus, the Australian captain's return has not gone well for Australia so far, and she could muster just five runs off 15 balls. The rain halted the proceedings immediately after the wicket, and Indian bowlers would be looking to continue their good start once the rain stops.

Australia though are a strong unit with full of match-winners and are on a 15-match winning streak in Women's ODI World Cups. They last lost the game in the 2017 World Cup semifinal against India and the Women in Blue would be hoping to repeat the history this time around.
