Rishabh Pant for India A (Source: @StarSportsIndia/X.com)
India A are up against South Africa A in the first unofficial Test at the BCCI CoE. Rishabh Pant is back on the field and is leading India A as well, which is great news for Indian cricket. He won the toss and decided to field, and it has been a hard-fought battle so far.
Anshul Kamboj got the early wicket, but Jordan Hermann and Zubayr Hamza then stitched together a stand of 130 runs for the second wicket. During that period, Rishabh Pant tried out both of his spinners, Manav Suthar and Tanush Kotian.
Thus, it provided Rishabh Pant an opportunity to stand near the stumps, and the star wicketkeeper was in his usual elements. Pant was heard giving advice to both Manav Suthar and Tanush Kotian in a video released by Star Sports on their official X handle.
Rishabh Pant advises Tanush Kotian and Manav Suthar
Firstly, he advised Tanush Kotian to keep bowling his stuff and concentrate on bowling a stump-to-stump line. His main advice to Kotian was not to get frustrated and keep bowling with patience to get into his rhythm. He told Kotian to bowl with a relaxed mindset and stated that it would take some time to get into rhythm.
"Zyada fielder nahi hai outside mein. Dalte reh apna koi nahi. Thode der dande pe daalo koi problem nahi. Tang mat ho. Relax hoke daal. Rhythm pakde ko dekh. Aa jaayega ekhad over mein. Pareshan mat ho", Pant to Tanush Kotian.
The same clip then showed Manav Suthar bowling a lovely loopy delivery to the batter. Zubayr Hamza defended it, but Rishabh Pant was pretty impressed and told Manav Suthar to bowl all six balls in the same way.
"Areee bhai, yehi hai. 6 ball daal ke dikhao zara. Mazaa aaya ga", Pant to Manav Suthar.
Thus, Rishabh Pant is not leaving any stone unturned to inspire his young bowlers and perform his role as a captain. Pant has taken the field after a long time, and it would be interesting to see how he goes about his business with the bat.
